Change CSC on Samsung Devices | Guide

Samsung is probably the largest Android OEM in the world, at the moment. From midrange devices to flagship devices, from phones to tablets, the number of devices and variants that Samsung releases every single year is astounding. Most of the Android OEMs release as a single version of the software update to their devices all over the world. For example, OnePlus releases the same update to all OnePlus 7s around the world. That is not the case with Samsung.

Samsung releases a different version of stock firmware for different regions – all for the same device. And why exactly do they do this? We have no idea but we do know how do they do it. They differentiate these devices by the CSC (Country Specific Code) on the Samsung devices. Each of the Samsung devices come with a CSC on them so that Samsung can later identify them based on the CSC and send across the appropriate update to the devices.

If you wish to learn more about CSC and the list of all CSC codes available for Samsung devices, then I recommend reading the below article:

  1. Hi, thanks for the post….
When I do *#272*YOUR-IMEI-NUMBER#, I have the massage “UNKNOWN APPLICATION”
Do you know why ? Thanks for your answer 🙂

  2. I can see on you screenshot that you have a dual sim. Which one should I use? I have tried both IMEI´s and most CSC codes have the word “single” after the country code and the ones that do not say “single” issue a warning “selected code or current code is Single. Only Sales&Network Code Change is available”

      • Hi there. I’ve note 8 from United Arab Emirates though I use it in Tanzania – East Africa. It’s also rooted (not by me)
I want to unroot and flash stock rom but I’m confused about it’s CSC. Through *#2234# it shows this AP: N950FXXS5DSC6 but through software information (network provider) it shows SAOMV_SM-N950F_hades_XSG_PP_0006.

Now which is which? I really need to flash stock rom so I can get the latest updates on my galaxy note 8 as currently I’m unable to so since software updates is inactive.
        Thanks in advance.
        Steve
