Apple invented HomePod a few years ago, an intelligent speaker powered by Siri. HomePod is very much similar to what Google’s nest and Amazon’s Echo devices are, all of them have their own assistants working on the speaker.

These assistants listen to your query and return with the best possible answers. It is very obvious that these smart speakers need a WIFI connection to work properly, this includes the HomePods as well.

However, there are some tricks through which you can use HomePod smart speaker at home without any Wi-Fi Connection.

To start with, you will first have to configure the HomePod in a way that anyone can access it. Without configuring the HomePod you won’t be able to use it without a WIFI connection.

To start configuring your HomePod you need to visit the Home app on your iPhone or the iPad which is logged in with the same Apple ID as the HomePod. Inside the Home app click on the house icon located in the upper left corner of the screen.

Now choose the house where your HomePods is and then scroll through the options until you see an option that says Allow access to Speakers.

Now, we need to give access to the HomePods to everyone. But you don’t need to worry, you can still protect your HomePods from anyone’s access. Apple allows users to set a password in order to access HomePods.

That way you will be giving access to everyone with a password, so anyone without a password won’t be able to access the HomePods.

That’s it, now you can use your HomePod without the need for a WIFI connection. All you need to do is use the media playing the app on your iPhone or iPad and then press the Airplay icon to share your music from the phone to the HomePod.

After which your HomePod should start playing music despite not being around a WIFI connection. This happens because the music is being played on the HomePod over the Wi-Fi (peer-to-peer).

That way you don’t need to have a WIFI network but you do need to create a hotspot for your iPhone or the iPad. Which the phone does on its own once you press the Airplay button.
