Spotify is one of the most famous music streaming platforms that users use across the globe. It easily dominates what others offer like Apple Music and YouTube Music. On the other hand, Spotify keeps adding new features and optimizing its UI to give a more user-friendly experience while listening to music. On top of that most people uses Spotify because of the curated playlists which they create for every individual, it sits in perfectly. However, just like other paid services, Spotify also charges monthly subscription plans, using which will give you several benefits like the ability to download music, an ad-free music experience and high-quality audio streaming as well. Not to mention Spotify free users aren’t allowed to stream on-demand music it is only limited to the subscribed members of Spotify. Using the mobile app of Spotify, free users need to search for the music, create a playlist or bookmark any album into the Your Music section. But the free users cannot directly select a particular song and listen to it.

However, users can play songs from their playlists by using the shuffle feature of the app. Spotify is smart enough, that even if you try to play one song from a playlist using shuffle, it will start to play some other song that is similar to that but won’t play that particular song.
But, there is a workaround through which you will be able to play songs on-demand streaming even if you don’t have a premium account. Below we have a tutorial for the same on Spotify for iPhone and Android both the app.
- First, you need to download and install the Spotify app on your Android or iPhone.
- Open Spotify and log in with your account.
- Search for the song which you want to play.
- Now, select any of the results from the top results, artists or the album section.
- You will be redirected to the album or the artist page.
- here you need to tap on the shuffle Play button and it will start playing a random song from the list of available songs.
- Finally, you can tap on the shuffle play button and it will start playing the music which has been selected by you in the list.
The Your Music option inside Spotify will show all the songs and albums that you have bookmarked using the save option of Spotify. Also, if you try to open the artist or the album from the recently played list, then most of the time it will redirect you to the artist or the album homepage inside the Spotify app which will include a complete list of the songs relevant to that artist or the album. But if you have recently played any songs from that album or the artist then tapping on that album or artist will show the songs which you have played from that album or the artist and it will also include the saved songs. there’s also a shuffle play that will randomly play songs from the respective saved items.
Now, if you want to play a particular song from your recently played playlist or the album or artist then you will have to remove all other saved items that might be present on that list. As the saved list contains one song now, so tapping on the shuffle button will play that particular song that you want to play. But, keep in mind this same trick won’t work if you try to do it for individual albums or playlists.
To Conclude
So, this was a cool trick through which you can play your desired song at once without aking up the Spotify subscription. however, it may or may not work with a windows phone device, you may give it a try.
