• Permanently disable AirPods from Reading Messages from your iPhone
• Temporarily disable AirPods from Reading Messages from your iPhone

If you want to permanently disable AirPods from doing the same, head to Settings > Control Center and look for Announce Messages. Tap the ‘-‘ (minus icon) next to the Announce Messages.

The moment you disable this feature, Siri will no longer announce any message sent to your iPhone. However, you can at any time enable this option and use it as per your desire.

If you want to temporarily disable AirPods from announcing the text messages you got over your iPhone, Go to Control Centre on your iPhone and select Announce Messages icon to Turn this feature off and you can turn it on just by tapping on it.

Apple also allows you to control AirPods through your Apple watch, you can easily control volume or play/pause or even play the next song using your Apple watch. You can also use your Apple watch to disable the Announce Messages with the Siri feature.

All you need to do is head to the Control Center over your Apple Watch and select Announce Messages with Siri icon, you can turn it on or off as per your desire and whenever you want.

Moreover, you can also hold the icon and choose how much time you want to turn off this feature, which might be for an hour or for a whole day. The feature will then automatically be enabled once the selected time passes.
