Kids love to play games on mobile phones and tables all day long. One of the biggest issues of letting your kids play games on an iPhone or iPad is that they might “accidentally” end up doing transactions on the games’ in-app purchases. Kids tend to get more excited and download anything that looks colorful and flashy. But one wrong click can build up your credit card due amount. In this guide, I will show you some ways to avoid the problem permanently.
Stop Accidental In-App Purchases on iPhone/iPad
There are couple of ways by which you can prevent your kids from raking your credit card bills via in-app purchases on iOS and both of them are listed below in detail.
Change the Content & Privacy Restriction Settings
- Go to Settings > Screen Time.
- Next, Click Content & Privacy Restrictions and Enter the Passcode (if required).
- Here, Enable the Content & Privacy Restriction button.
- Then, Select iTunes & App Store Purchases.
- Now, tap on “Installing Apps” and change it as “Don’t allow“.
- Next, tap on “In-app Purchases” and change it to “Don’t allow”.
- Then, Change the Require Password as “Always Require“.
Set Screen Time Limits on Apps
- Open Settings.
- Go to Screen Time.
- Here, Turn On the Screen Time Limit and Set the Passcode.
- Select “App limits” and Enter the Passcode (if required).
- Tap on Add limits > All apps & Categories > Next.
- Now, Set the Time limit and Tap on Add at the Top-Right Corner.
Note:
After the Screen Time Limit is set, if you want to access a particular app, it will ask for Approval Time Limit. Here you can give a Time Limit of your choice and then the app will get unlocked. Once the time limit you had provided has reached, then the app will be locked again.
I hope the above methods helped you in preventing accidental in-app purchases on your iOS device. If you need any help or have any suggestions, do let us know in the comments section below.
