Restart your Phone

Restarting your phone may seem illogical at first, but if you ask any tech person, he will suggest rebooting the phone as it solves many issues related to the mobile device. Whether you have a phone, tablet, or PC, always try to reboot it before you move to any other solution.

Log out from Facebook App

An issue can also prevail due to a corrupted session. To check whether the issue is with your account session or not, you should log out from the Facebook app and then log in again.

If the Facebook app still crashes, then there is no problem with the account session and you should try other methods to overcome the issue.

Step 4: After clicking on “Facebook,” select “Storage” and click on “Clear cache.” Now, the cache has been successfully cleared for the Facebook app.

Clear Data

After clearing the cache, the Facebook app still crashes, then you have to move a step ahead and clear the data for the app.

Firstly, you have to understand that clearing data is somewhat different from clearing the cache. Clearing the data will log you out from the app as well as reset app settings. You will even lose all the media that you have downloaded from Facebook.

If you don’t want to lose your data, then move the media (images, videos, etc.) from your Facebook folder to any other folder because after you clear the data, it will wipe out everything present in the Facebook folder.

To clear the Facebook app data, repeat the first three steps as in “Clear cache.” Then, select “Storage” and click on “Clear Storage” instead of “Clear cache.” Now, you have successfully cleared the app data.

Update Facebook App

Sometimes, updating the Facebook app fixes all the bugs and issues related to it. In case, you have disabled automatic update from Play Store, then you will have to manually update the app.

To update an app, go to Play Store and check for an update for the Facebook app. If the update is available, install it right away.

Reinstall App

Like updating, you can also try to uninstall and reinstall the Facebook app. To uninstall the app, you need to go to the Play Store and search Facebook. At last, click on “Uninstall.”

There is another way of uninstalling the app. Go to Settings on your phone and click on “Apps & notifications.”  Now, search for “Facebook” and click on “Uninstall.”

Once you finished with the process of uninstallation, then you will have to install the app again from the Play Store.

Install Older Version of Facebook App

Neither updating nor uninstalling fixes the issue, so try to use the older version of the Facebook app. To start with the older version, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Uninstall the current Facebook app from your device.

Step 2: Visit APKMirror and look for the Facebook app. You will find the APK of the older version, and then you have to download that APK and install the app on your device.

Step 3: As you haven’t downloaded the APK from Play Store, you have to first enable the download apps from “Unknown sources” and then only you will be able to install the older version of the app.

Step 4: If you are using Android 8.0 or above, click on the downloaded APK file and you will be redirected to the Phone Settings. In Settings, enable “Allow from this source” and your app will now be installed automatically.

However, there is another way of installing the older version of a Facebook app. If you are not able to download the APK using the above process, then you can try the second way as mentioned below.

Step 1: Download the older version of the Facebook app on your PC, and extract the zip file until you get the APK file.

Step 2: Connect your Android device to your PC via USB and transfer the downloaded APK file to the internal memory of your device.
